Fantasia Carousel
Shanghai Disneyland is the newest of Disney theme parks. In their Gardens of Imagination area is a carousel.
Carousel's feature in most of the Disney parks and are usually situated in Fantasyland and often themed around royal characters such as Cinderella or King Arthur.
At Shanghai Disneyland the carousel is themed around Fantasia and, specifically, the Sorcerer's Apprentice, Pastoral Symphony and Dance of the Hours segments.
The horses of this carousel are flying Pegasi - as seen in Pastoral Symphony. Painted in a rainbow of colours, guests can choose to fly a male, female or baby Pegasus.
On the roof (and in the surrounding garden) are sculptures of the crocodiles and hippopotamuses from Dance of the Hours. The faces of Sorcerer Mickey, Yen Sid, Bacchus and Zeus can be seen on the carousel and cherubs frame the carousel's mirrors.
Music from Fantasia plays as this carousel carries guests on a gentle revolve.
The theming of Fantasia is a welcome twist to a classic attraction.
